"I risk becoming deluded.,"Indis wrote,longhand..the pills he has begun taking make his writing difficult to read....
he is not himself on these meds.
they make him slow, bloated...."round"
his skin is sallow...yellow.
           his movements are clumsy..
            off.
but The Muse was too much
the visions, the sound ..the sense that his mind was no longer his own

searching for answers...
and my mind goes back to  his own childhood.
and how a parent more aware of his
failings and successes
often uses this information ...presumably subconsciously
to either
hedge in the child
or bolster them

what if some type of Group...or agency ..or religion...or all three at once
were privy
to
specifics of one's formative years

Indis O ' say rereads his notes.

the limited amount of understanding I have about reverse brain engineering infers that to go about this
scientists would need to have  an exacting knowledge of the
brain they were
working with

and it comes to me that the only way
a 'team" or agency might have
a precise record of "imprint"
would be to purposely
schedule specific key events in the child's life to
refer to.....

Merge technology was fore seen for years.
and "hosts" or "husks" to be
considered feasible
had to be
made."
...
Indis O'Say looks at his notes..
and the book he has been reading about" The Monster Test"

The Monster Study is the name given to a stuttering experiment performed on twenty-two orphan children in Davenport, Iowa in 1939. It was conducted by Wendell Johnson at the University of Iowa. Johnson chose one of his graduate students, Mary Tudor, to conduct the experiment, and he supervised her research. After placing the children in control and experimental groups, Tudor gave positive speech therapy to half of the children, praising the fluency of their speech, and negative speech therapy to the other half, belittling the children for every speech imperfection and telling them they were stutterers. Many of the normal speaking orphan children who received negative therapy in the experiment suffered negative psychological effects and some retained speech problems for the rest of their lives. . Patricia Zebrowski, University of Iowa assistant professor of speech pathology and audiology, notes, "The body of data that resulted from Johnson's work on children who stutter and their parents is still the largest collection of scientific information on the subject of stuttering onset. Although new work has determined that children who stutter are doing something different in their speech production than non-stutterers, Johnson was the first to talk about the importance of a stutterer's thoughts, attitudes, beliefs, and feelings. We still don't know what causes stuttering, but the 'Iowa' way of approaching study and treatment is still heavily influenced by Johnson, but with an added emphasis on speech production."

The research began with the selection of twenty-two subjects from a veterans' orphanage in Iowa. None were told the intent of her research, and they believed that they were to receive speech therapy. Tudor was trying to induce stuttering in healthy children and to see whether telling stutterers that their speech was fine would produce a change.

Besides the "the Monster test
Indis rereads information about tests done at Edgemeont,Tuskeegee...
and is amazed
not so much by the administrators  ..but by the willing subordinates
who ,aware of the implications of these  ghastly testing
took part in them none the less
not because of threats to their job or person...
but ,"for the cause " of science

Indis is still working on the novelization of "The Facetaker"
meant to precede the released\ of the film by 3 months...The Muse...the entity that had previously "come" to Indis
had begun to over whelm Indis
and against his initial judgment
Indis began seeing a psychiatrist
to get medication
...the meds at first (and still) messed with his cognitions, emotions and made him lethargic..
when his editor accused him of sounding medicated
Indis spoke of some flu ...
Linda N. and Valerie Prentis did not "believe "in psych meds.

in Neuronautics.
seeing .Hearing. Dreaming...and "celestial over-ride" or "Walk Throughs" by "our Ancients"
was
a gift.not a condition
sometimes
Indis believed the only rule to being a "good Neuronaut" was
one's persuasion or decision to
"be Ruled'

  • the Facetaker's childhood ,the disfigured villain/protagonist/antagonist of Parasol's studio's
  • opus received his injuries...and his impetus from a fire that killed his little brother because a vain babysitter was too consumed by his own reflection in the mirror and his focus on hair gel experiments in the bathroom on the 2nd floor than his 'wards" for that evening presumably
  • this early tragedy formed Facetaker's character and his impetus -that being to both become a cosmetic surgeon and also seek vengeance (with his breakthroughs in "nano" based plastic surgery. On all so vain that a mirror ..their appearance
  •  means more to them than all else-
in the film script he had been asked to
write as lead in
the fire was set by FACETAKER's little brother..
                     but in the novelization
Indis has introduced a shadowy character
that may or not be real-that slips into the house to statrt the fire

                           as to
start a chain of events that will mold FACETAKER'S into a version of "self" with certain pathologies
as well as a self esteem that was foreseen to be empty enough
to be filled with another's input

chemically lobotomized
to the point of near stupor Indis tries to remember the term
for those that prune small plants ...
he also thinks of ballet...and than a documentary or book he had read
about how certain girls
had been forced to wear
casts of some kind that stopped their feet from growing.

Indis lays down
.....he woke up 2 hours ago and the pills only make him want night to come so he doesn't feel guilty
he has already forgot what he was thinking a few minutes ago.
but he hears and sees nothing.
            and that.
                    is enough.
his pants feel tight...he has gained so much weight even the last 2 weeks..
but the sound and vision is gone
his murky ,muddy thoughts are his own..
he balance is off.,the Dr. said that the meds effect balance...
2 hours up.
and he sleeps .
for another four.

he will lose this "deal" with Parasol Pictures.

they wanted him to write Facetaker verbatim ...
