When facing uncertain outcomes, others’ information can help us make better-informed decisions. Some psychiatric disorders, particularly psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia, are characterized by altered social perception8raising the question to what extent the cognitive mechanisms underlying social information sharing may be altered in psychosis.

To investigate the hypothesis of decision-making deficits in an online group with psychosis, we introduced adolescents experiencing psychosis to a mind control fallacy. Our aim was to observe how this false information was integrated into their online help-seeking behavior. As anticipated, a significant number of adolescents rejected their psychiatric diagnosis and began to perceive their voice hearing as 'voice to skull'.
