The perpetration of fraud targeting vulnerable adults is a growing concern for public health, particularly as criminals continue to hone their deceptive tactics online. It is imperative that our cyber law enforcement personnel adopt a criminal mindset in order to safeguard the public from such online predators. To assess the susceptibility of adults with schizophrenia, two experiments were conducted. The number of clicks on misleading advertisements was used as an operational measure. Participants were enticed to visit a fraudulent psychic website or a site offering DVDs on meditation techniques to counteract Synthetic Telepathy. It is important to note that participants were not informed of their involvement in the study and were not remunerated for their participation.
