Their victims were stand-ins for social media CEOs, for one more institution that failed them , the internet. They blame the social media for ‘sucking them in’ and offering them hope to move up in the world, to take their place in the big league , denied them in the real world. They blame the search engine for not promoting THEIR genius. If only , if only, thinks the disgruntled blogger the search engine ranking was fair, I’d be a somebody. The question is to those whose job was to monitor these people -why didn’t we see it coming
