One must recognize that these individuals who are deluded on social media rely on the belief that their words will eventually be taken seriously by someone. However, when that eventual recognition never materializes (which is highly unlikely considering there are over 2.5 billion social media users), the deluded individual may begin devising plans to be seen and heard that have nothing to do with 'sharing'. They mistakenly believes that their words hold more significance than others and this is part of their disease. This distorted perception is often fueled by their belief in the existence of 'mind control weapons' literally telling them what to post. Unfortunately, these claims of ventriloquism, makes that their claims hold less weight.
In some cases, when faced with the disappointment of not being taken seriously, these disturbed individuals may resort to violent actions in order to make their point. It is important to be able to identify the warning signs of violence in troubled individuals. By doing so, we can take proactive measures to prevent potentially violent situations. Recognizing these warning signs allows us to intervene in two primary ways, ultimately helping to prevent acts of violence.
