In 1979, Paul Bennewitz, the proprietor of Thunder Scientific Corporation, a small electronics company in Albuquerque, New Mexico, found himself amidst a peculiar phenomenon. Along with others, he witnessed peculiar lights in the night sky above the Manzano Test Range, located just outside Albuquerque. These lights appeared almost every evening and seemed to navigate towards Coyote Canyon, which was part of the Kirtland Air Force Base area. This region encompassed Sandia National Laboratory and Phillips Laboratory, both of which were engaged in government research activities. By early 1980, Paul Bennewitz had become deeply involved in observing and documenting objects that he had spotted on the ground and in the airspace near Kirtland Air Force Base. Consequently, on 24 October 1980, he reached out to Major Ernest Edwards of the Kirtland Security Police to report his findings. Seizing this opportunity, a scheme was devised to inundate Bennewitz with disinformation, with the intention of enticing him to contribute to the cultivation and dissemination of the UFO myth. Under the guise of this operation teams within the US Air Force and Intelligence services exploited and manipulated beliefs surrounding UFOs and extraterrestrial visitations for over six decades. These activities were conducted as part of their counterintelligence programs. The result was the creation of a remarkably influential mythology that captivated and distorted the perspectives of numerous brilliant individuals, including some within their own ranks. Now, for the first time, both the orchestrators of these operations and their victims have come forward to share their experiences, unveiling a true narrative that bears resemblance to a blend of the Manchurian Candidate and Close Encounters of the Third Kind. To perturb Paul's mind and nervous system, electronic weapons were employed, while false "communications" purportedly between himself and aliens were transmitted to his computer. Across the street, a facility was established to emit microwaves towards his residence, further intensifying the psychological manipulation he endured.
