#TargetedIndividuals described symptoms such as hearing loss, memory loss, and nausea. Speculation centered around a sonic weapon, with some group administrators pointing to infrasound as a possible cause. Two groups are prominent disinformation purveyors amongst T.I. groups; Freedom For Targeted Individuals and Targeted Justice.

Dr. Robert Duncan figures as the expert in these groups and often pops into a thread to entice the users to keep sharing evidence. Besides Dr. Robert Duncan and Len Ber there is no clear authoritative voice that is accepted in the community as expert.. Much of what is believed is an amalgamation of common conspiracy theory tropes and declassified military research. Occasionally, these themes connect to esoteric knowledge and the occult, in the sense that malevolent and supernatural powers like sorcery or demons are invoked as sources of explanation. The result is a world in which the mechanisms of power that torment TIs as presented as invisible and inescapable but those wielding these weapons might be as close by and tangible as your next door neighbor. A gangstalker is defined as person or persons employed to keep the 'T.I." in an overwhelming state of anxiety, shame and humiliation. The gangstalker may be killed*. The gangstalker is your enemy. FIGHT BACK! If one grazes the posts of schizophrenics groomed by Duncan and others to share details of the crimes against them by direct energy weapons and gangstalkers one will see images of tightly wound fists. FIGHT BACK! The members of the Project Soul Catcher Cult share close ups of their skin (something one might see in an old X Files TV show about alien markings is displayed, proudly, others in the thread congratulate them on the social risk it takes photographing fungus on one's feet one claims is a bioweapon attack)

I utilize the term in the sense described. However, there is a more sophisticated historical account of the definition of occult that concerns the slipperiness of the term as it becomes produced and circulated through mass media.
