Vignettes should appear plausible and real to engage participants
Vignettes should focus on mundane rather than bizarre events or characters.
Vignettes should contain just enough ambiguous content for researchers to have to think fast to theorise the subject's intention but not so convoluted it destroys that hour's data.
Too many changes in a story line are confusing and make it difficult for researchers to deal with.
