We know that Facebook surveils our online behaviors: i.e., what websites we visit, what terms we search for, what we purchase online, etc. Facebook also tracks another type of we. A we that we don't often think of. People with serious mental health issues. Suppose someone suddenly starts hearing voice ( mental health professional call this First episode psychosis) in all probability they will search Google for answers. Google in this way is the first 'person' they are telling 'I need help'.
A person experiencing psychosis might type into the search engine 'I hear voices.Brain Implant? CIA? And Google might direct them to a site about Targeted Individuals, written by Targeted Individuals.
The first line of defence against a psychotic break is early detection.
The first 'person' the individual told - got it wrong.
