The act of writing blogs provides researchers with valuable insight into the impact of low social status on the mood and mental health of adults with mental disabilities. Our analysis reveals a higher frequency of negative emotion words compared to positive emotion words, particularly among those who have experienced prolonged stagnation or lack of progress. Notably, the phenomenon of "failure to launch" is experienced differently by mentally ill adults who are cognizant of their inability to achieve independence or change their dependent status. Through an examination of the blogs and microblogs of mentally ill adults, we observe an increasing use of insight, causal, and associated cognitive words over several years, which sheds light on their evolving emotional expression.
