Fool (If You Think It's Over)

Hospitalized patients with psychiatric issues are treated, medicated, and subsequently discharged. However, the investigation into the living arrangements of these discharged patients and how it impacts their adherence to medication regimens and recommended follow-up care is often overlooked in research concerning this vulnerable population. The term "complex recovery" is employed to analyze the emergence and consequences of various forms of adversity throughout an individual's life. Previously challenging, the documentation of the daily lives of mentally ill individuals has become relatively effortless due to the affordability of passive sensing techniques, such as cell phones, which are now accessible even to those experiencing financial hardship. Additionally, the homeless and mentally ill population also utilize social media platforms, allowing for the triangulation of their self-reports regarding medication compliance and attendance at substance abuse meetings and mental health clinics. These studies provide much-needed data to address the fragmented nature of our service system.
