Extracting Narrative Patterns in Different Textual Genres: A Multilevel Feature Discourse Analysis


As one scrolls down, an example of a meme attached to an email supposedly sent to a reporter by the author of the text can be seen. The reader is prompted to question the authenticity of the author, the actual sending of the text, and the intentions of the supposed author in presenting themselves in this manner to the potential reader. Additionally, the reader is encouraged to ponder why an individual would choose to portray themselves as a potential threat to others. Going beyond the ethical boundaries of "artist expression" and the concept of sharing one's narrative to engage others in their fiction or semi-fiction, the reader should contemplate the effectiveness of this style of writing (the blog) for the purposes of testing and consider what alternative format would better serve these hypotheses.
