Help-Seeking Behavior in First Episode Psychosis on Facebook

People with serious mental illness (SMI) often have limited social support. Social isolation often develops as their abilities to engage in daily social and vocational activities decrease. 


Microblogging platforms like Twitter and Facebook may provide community for people with SMI (schizophrenia, bipolar disorder). By analysing self published posts of people with SMI we can begin to understand how social media shapes users ideas about their symptoms and beliefs about the nature of their illness.
