Valis and Simulation Theory

Hi there, i am here after many other posts in various subreddits and once again i am stopping at another subreddit for some answers on this panicked journey of simulation theory.

So, I have been reading summaries of VALIS and i am confused what exactly Dick believed about said simulation and how did he receive this interpretation of what i assume to be an alien like satellite projecting reality onto us? Or is it that the whole universe is simulated by this VALIS? Forgive me if this is very off topic or irritating but this theory has connected with Dick and it is kinda controlling my life so i am on a hunt to find some answers. Thank you

no i have not i am really just trying to get a quick understanding of what VALIS is supposed to be, bc if it is supposed to be a literal alien satellite orbiting us and projecting our world, how would it work if we were to leave the planet or even astronauts.

PKD suffered from real psychosis. I dont think he should be looked to for any sort of answers. Read Valis and come back to this thread. If you still have questions then you can ask them.
